Tippecanoe School Corporation

Student Life

Several extra-curricular activities are available to students. The Mintonye-Southwestern Summer Recreation league operates the baseball, softball, and T-ball program and maintains three ball diamonds, a batting cage, and a concession stand at Mintonye, as well as at Southwestern Middle School. Many students play fall and spring soccer in the Greater Lafayette Recreational Soccer Association and practice on our soccer field during their seasons. The Little Mavs Basketball and Football programs also provide sports opportunities for the children. Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and 4H are popular programs with the students at Mintonye. Fifth grade students have leadership opportunities through groups such as Mail Carriers, Tech Crew, and Safety Crew. Fourth and fifth grade students have the opportunity to serve on Student Council if elected, and our fifth grade Recycling Team strives to make Mintonye a greener place to work and learn. Vex Box club and Lego League are other clubs that students can get involved with at Mintonye.
