Principal's Message

Mintonye Elementary School Community,

I am pleased and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Mintonye Elementary School, Brock Richardson.  I look forward to embarking on this journey together, and forming strong school/home partnerships that work together to best support our students and strive for success!  I am looking forward to a wonderful school year ahead!

Mintonye Elementary School understands that every child is a unique individual, and works to meet each student’s needs.  We work hard for our students to achieve not only academic gains, but also the development of work habits and social skills as well.   We achieve this through having high expectations, uncovering and utilizing an individual’s talents and interests, being collaborative, reflective over our curriculum and instructional practices, and having a growth mindset that we can always find ways to improve and do better!  We believe with the right supports provided at school and at home, all children can learn and grow in the proper environment.  The staff of Mintonye build and promote a positive culture and safe learning environment for our students where they learn to think critically, persevere through challenges, and celebrate each other’s successes.

Mintonye Elementary School is built on tradition, and part of that tradition is having parents and families involved in the school community.  The school hosts various events to be involved, ranging from parent-teacher conferences, awards programs, music programs, and events sponsored by our amazing Parent-Teacher-Organization (PTO)!  Events include, but aren’t limited to, Ice Cream Social, Trunk or Treat, Chili Supper, and the Spring Frolic.  Be on the lookout for information shared through school notifications, and keep up with us on our school’s Facebook page!  I also encourage you to get involved with the PTO to share your ideas and skills to positively impact our school.  

Once again, it is an honor and I am thrilled to serve as your principal.  I look forward to getting to know each other, and working together to achieve success for our students and to have a positive school experience!
