FIRST ® LEGO® League Jr. captures young children's (age 6-10) curiosity and directs it toward discovering the wonders of science and technology. This program features a real-world scientific concept to be explored through research, teamwork, building, and imagination.

There were 33 Mintonye second and third grader who participated this year. The students met every Wednesday after school.

"Lego League was a lot of fun, I liked trying to figure out how to live on the moon," said Violet Reksel. Several students said they loved being creative while problem solving.

Guided by Mrs. Tilley, teams use LEGO Education WeDo elements and an exclusive FIRST LEGO League Jr. Inspire Set to build and program a moving model, and develop a Show Me Poster to illustrate their journey.

This year's challenge was Mission Moon, how could we live on the moon if we were no longer able to live on Earth?
