What is colorful, creates beautiful art, and can be recycled into clean fuels?
Crayola® ColorCycle is a small, ongoing, recycling project that promises to make a big impact. Mintonye Elementary is a partner school collecting used plastic markers (including non-Crayola brands, dry erase markers, and highlighters). The national collection hopes to eliminate hundreds of tons of markers from placement in landfills. Crayola's creation provides free shipping to a Crayola facility where the used markers are converted into clean fuel to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals, and much more.
Any brand of plastic and dry erase markers and highlighters are accepted. Look for the collection container in the Mintonye breezeway. The project is being sponsored and coordinated by the Mintonye fifth-grade Girl Scout Troop #02896.
