Valentine's Day Box Inventions in Third Grade at Mintonye
Kristy Delp

On February 13th and 14th Mrs. Greer’s third grade class had a Valentine’s Day themed STEM project. Students learned about inventions, inventors and patents. "We learned why it's important to patent your ideas," said Allie Rice. Students had to design their Valentine's Day box, label the diagram and apply for a patent so their idea belonged to them! "It's important to change your ideas if it is not working," said Ian Isenbarger. Once the student’s patents were approved, they were able to build their design. "We learned to never give up and that it was hard work," said Huxley Skalon.
