The Mintonye Second Graders joined one another to read about and discuss how Kindness could change the world. They read and discussed a book about Kindness, then discussed the kinds of things that they could do to show Kindness. Each student wrote a kind word or phrase on a piece of paper, then they turned that paper into a “snowball” and threw it to another student in the class. The students then read their snowball compliment and discussed how they felt. When the lesson was completed the second graders went back to each of their classrooms and wrote on a paper snowflake what kind act they would do to change the world. The snowflakes are displayed on the tree in the second grade hallway.
