The Mintonye second grade students and the Cole second grade students learned how to write a friendly letter and gained some new friendships as a result! On October 2nd, students met their “writing buddies” in person when the Cole Elementary students traveled to Mintonye to have lunch, play an exciting game of kickball, and play on the new playground with their friends. Following that, each student invited their buddy to visit their classroom to share some additional time and interests. It was tough to say goodbye at the end of the day, but the students felt very happy that they got to share their day with someone they had never met before. It was a valuable experience for the students to learn how to reach out to others through writing and communicating in a more traditional way. It was a day of fun and friendship and a good time was had by all! Good job 2 nd grade!
